New trends in agribusiness on display at the 26th Source of the Nile National Agriculture Show in Jinja until the 22nd of July 2018

Jinja District is hosting the 26th edition of the Source of the Nile National Agriculture Show from the 13th to the 22nd of July 2018.

The Show which is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries in partnership with the Uganda National Farmers Federation is running under the theme, Fostering Agricultural Value Chains Innovation for Farmer-Led Food Security, Household Income and Job Creation.”

The opening debates and tours for the youth were graced by members of the Parliamentary Committee of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Heads of Educational Institutions and the National Organising Committee.

Here, the main aim was to allow the youth to share views and learn more from the practical displays at the Show.

The National Agricultural Show has been designed to showcase new trends in agricultural mechanisation, irrigation, value addition, breeding, research, crop and animal husbandry, fisheries and aquaculture as well as apiculture.

Exhibitors are from across the private sector led by the Uganda National Farmers Federation alongside the Ministry Agencies, Departments and Projects.

The Show which will run up to the 22nd of July will officially be opened by H.E Yoweri Museveni the President of the Republic of Uganda on Tuesday.
